As we all David Haselhurst Followers know that he has left ninemsn money and now joined Alan kohlers Eureka report. It is a shame that his followers including me can no longer follow his portfolio as it is available only to members of the Eureka report.

David Haselhurst (The Speculator) Portfolio Updated 4.09.09 . Australian investment guru David Haselhurst Continues to outperform the market – his portfolio is up 101%, with $75,083 in stocks and $5480 in cash. His portfolio has been updated today

Readers of the Money magazine though can still get a sneak peek in the latest Issue for sept 09 for his portfolio and how its faring and what new stocks he recommends. And, notably in 11 of the 35 years his annual gain has exceeded 100%. David’s best 12 month gain was in 1999 by producing a 305.5% return, and in the same year the All-Ordinaries produced a comparatively small gain of just 11.5%

This article at the inflationist.com gives a brief history from the American perspective of David Haselhurst and compares him to warren buffet. Personally i think there is truth in this as i have been following his portfolio for some time now and still don’t know how he manages to pick the winners and always be ahead even though small stock picking is such a fine art.

Here is what the inflationist says about David Haselhurst

“Australian investors will have heard of David Haselhurst, the stock-tipper extraordinaire whose tips for “The Speculator Column” outstripped the All-Ordinaries index in 30 of 34 years, with nine years of TRIPLE digit growth.”

Though as mentioned in that link in there he does not work for ninemsn money online portal anymore.
